Shearwater Geoservices has been awarded an ocean bottom node (OBN) seismic acquisition project for the Jackdaw field in the UK sector of the North Sea. The contract, awarded by Adura, covers a two-month survey delivering high-resolution OBN data to support reservoir characterization.

The project scope spans approximately 220 km² of seismic acquisition using Shearwater's SW Tasman vessel and its established ocean bottom node capabilities. The SW Gallien will provide source capabilities for the survey.

Irene Waage Basili, CEO of Shearwater, said the award reinforces the company's leading position in the global OBN market and its technical capability to serve operators in the North Sea basin.

OBN seismic surveys deploy nodes on the seabed to record high-quality data that supports better reservoir understanding and development planning. The Jackdaw field development represents continued investment in maximizing recovery from mature offshore infrastructure.
